Driving
down the paved Salmon River Road
to the house/property is a
unique experience! You never
know what you'll see next. You
are either looking up at
breathtaking views of the rugged
Salmon River Mountains with
fascinating rock formations or
looking down at the Salmon River
to see if you can spot river
otters playing in the water. Or
a herd of big horn sheep could
be around the next curve causing
a traffic jam.
Summertime
can find you viewing rafters
enjoying the quieter river
sections or blasting through
whitewater. There are numerous
riverfront places to camp year
round. Fall can find anglers
boating the river for steelhead
or trying their luck bank
fishing for this elusive trout.
Hunters are scouring the
colorful hillsides looking for
game. Wintertime is a peacefully

serene
time with a nice layer of
untracked snow covering the
countryside to the banks of
the frozen-over river.
Springtime finds the canyon
turning green with lots of
wildlife grazing on fresh
grasses before they make
their way up the mountains
to their summer range. And a
lush variety of flowering
shrubs and colorful
wildflowers are blooming on
the south facing
mountainsides. This is truly
a spectacular place to
live!!!
The property is part of the
River of No Return Ranch
Subdivision, which contains
31 lots ranging in size from
two to seven acres. A third
of the lots that make up the
143 total acres currently
have houses on them. The
subdivision is surrounded by
United States Forest Service
(government) land and the
southern boundary is formed
by the Salmon River, Idaho’s
famed “River of No Return.”
In fact, much of the
subdivision acreage is
located within the National
Wild & Scenic Rivers System. |
NATIONAL WILD & SCENIC RIVERS
SYSTEM - In 1968,
Congress created the National
Wild & Scenic Rivers System.
The
Middle Fork of the Salmon River
was one of the eight original
rivers included in the system.
That number has since grown to
more than
130 rivers. The
section of the Salmon River that
forms the southern boundary of
the subdivision has been
classified as a “Recreational
River”
under the
National Wild & Scenic Rivers
System by Congress. It is very
unusual for property to be
available within the National
Wild &
Scenic Rivers System.
This property represents
a rare
opportunity! |
